No Limits File Mini

Tap, tap, tap anyone out there??  It has been so long since my last post, I'm wondering if anyone is still visiting my blog.  But I am back with a fabulous "NO Limits"file folder mini album.  Can I just say that I love this collection!! It is very hard to find products that are boy friendly, but every so often one pops up and this one by Heidi Swapp is FABULOUS!!!  I Love It.  I created this file folder mini of my boy using her "No Limits" collection.

The polaroid frames are great and the sequins arrows are to die for.  Lots of layering of burlap, tags, tape and of course fabulous papers. I used gesso, distress ink and sprays to grunge up the front of the file.

This mini has a ton of room for photos! I cut the file folders to create a photo stacker, a pocket in the center for tags or memorabilia.

This photo stacker opens up to hold 6-8 photos as well as room for journaling!

There is also a mini album with lots of tags, interactive pages and a page of 2x3 photo sleeve.

Lots of tags and different sized pages in the mini.

This file folder mini was such fun to create.  I love the colours and patterns in this 'No Limits" Collection!
Thank you for stopping by and I will be back soon, I promise!

Paper Issues New Theme Is Sponsored By Canvas Corp!!

Paper Issues is having a mini blog hop for the new theme "Burlap" and it is sponsored by the Fabulous Canvas Corp!!!  I so love working with Canvas Corp products.  Oh did I mention there is a PRIZE involved? An amazing package of Canvas Corp products!!!

I received a box full of Canvas Corp goodness and this is what I created, A canvas mini album.  In Calgary we will be celebrating The Calgary Stampede's 100 year anniversary this year.   So this adorable mini is the perfect album for all of my Stampede photos!

The album base is made of Canvas Corps 12x12 canvas.  I have sprayed it with Tattered Angels and Stamped it with my favorite Chicken wire stamp. I inked Pink Paislee's wooden letters to give them that western feel.  The canvas star is stamped and stitched, which I LOVE by the way!!  And the thick twine wound around like rope is one of my favorite details on the cover!

I used Canvas Corp 12x12 kraft tissue paper to create the banner and the ruffle on the bag.  This tissue is great to stamp on.

Cute little clothes pins hold this tissue paper banner.  The nail heads hold down the burlap and give this page a great western feel.  I used a brown paper bag to create a pocket for journaling.  I love the stamped tissue ruffle and the seam binding ribbon.

Basic stitching adds to the theme here.

An adorable burlap pocket to house all of those odds and ends or some journaling.

And of course you know how much I LOVE banners!  This banner is especially cute with the tissue ruffle across the top!

Now for the fun stuff, THE PRIZE!!  This is the fabulous Canvas Corp prize you could win.

Paper Issues Abroad Blog Hop!!

At Paper Issues we are having a little blog hop to start our new theme which is "Abroad", in honour of Studio Calico's Abroad collection. Travel, travel, travel...I love this theme!! To celebrate this theme we are having a mini blog hop.  Sounds fun, hey!!
For this layout I used an old photo of my BFF and I celebrating our first night in Maui, in 1993.  Those were the carefree days of our youth,  Oh what fun we had! For this theme I created a layout using a map paper from Pink Paislee's Daily Junque collection.

To create the sun rays I cut a triangle template and used moulding paste then applied colour spray to highlight the ray. For my title I used song lyrics from Fun's new song "We Are Young".

I used lots of texture with the cardboard, stitching and plastic grid.

Now for the real fun Paper issues is having a GIVEAWAY to celebrate this fabulous theme!

Layouts!

This weekend I was away for a scrappy weekend with the girls!  I always come back with sore cheeks from all of the laughing we do and a few finished projects, yay!  I am definitely not one of those people who do 80 layouts in a weekend (not really my style) but I love what I get done and I enjoy being away from all responsibility for an entire weekend.  Thanks to my hubby!!
These are a few of the projects I worked on this weekend.

@ 11 is a simple layout using photos of our family that were taken on November 11, 2011 at 11:11am.  I have been wanting to use this Bobunny paper for a long time and these photos were perfect, as the script on the paper talks about documenting everyday life.

I absolutely love this layout, it has to be my favourite layout of the whole weekend.  Again I used Bobunny paper, but a much newer line.  This photo of Miss Taylor was taken by my Maddie girl. She did a fabulous job and she did the impossible, got Taylor to smile for a photo.  Something I haven't been able to do for a long time.  Taylor hates having her picture taken, what a stinker!

And this layout is about Miss Taylor and how she won't stand still for a photo.  This is the typical photo I get of T these days, either blurred or partials because she is trying to avoid the camera.  I printed the photo on canvas photo paper.  The top photo lifts like a book and a plastic sleeve houses two more crazy pictures of Miss T, with journaling under that.

I also worked on some other projects that aren't complete yet, I am hoping to finish them soon and then I will post them. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
