More She Art

So I finally created another "She Art" girl.  I love how she turned out, much more modern than the last girl.  This time I created on a 6 X 12 piece of chipboard instead of a canvas.  I am going to frame it in a bright, funky frame.

With this girl I used some fabrics instead of paper for her clothing, I really like the texture it added to this piece. Don't you just love the burlap Uggs?

I still need to add a  "She Art" phrase, but I haven't come up with the right one just yet.  Hope you have a good weekend and thanks for stopping by!

I love all of the dangley things on the front, so cute.  To get the wrinkley ribbon just heat it with a heat gun.   Don't heat it too long, it will burn.

The pocket pages are a great way to store more pictures or journaling.

Doing the Happy Dance!!

This spring I was surprised with a lovely email from Jennifer Jackson, the Assistant Senior Managing Editor for Stampington and Company, the publisher of somerset studio.  Jennifer had come across my blog and loved my "Countdown to Christmas" project, as  I read the email, I could hardly believe my eyes, she was asking me if I would submit my project for publication into the Holidays and Celebrations magazine.  Are you kidding me, Of Course I would!!! I think at this point I was screeching and doing the happy dance! Somerset magazines, in my opinion,  are one of the most beautiful magazines on the market, filled with fabulous mixed media projects created by some very talented artists!!  And she was asking me for one of my projects, how thrilling is that!!  The 2011 issue was released on September 1 and it is more fabulous than I thought it would be, filled with delightful holiday projects for Halloween, Christmas, Valentines Day and Birthdays.

My project has a 5 page spread, YES that is 5 whole pages,  Showcasing some of my favorite tags.

And yes I am still doing the happy dance!!  Thank you so much for this opportunity Jennifer!!

Surfer Girl

Ok I don't love Maddie the most but it seems that I am only posting layouts of her lately.  You know there is always one child that likes to be in front of the camera and that is her...big time!  She is definitely my poser.

I bought two pieces of this patterned paper so I could fussy cut elements and pop them up  to create some dimension and movement.

I added some stickles to the waves, love the bling!

What have you been scrapbooking this summer?  Leave a comment and a link to your projects, I would love to see them!!
